Your Weekly AstroYoga Forecast
Today, Mercury begins to retrograde.
Mercury Retrograde is so much more than it's pop cultural reputation suggests. When Mercury Retrogrades, it offers an opportunity to turn your intellect in on itself.
It offers a moment of self-reflection and mental introspection that can truly offer you rest and regeneration if approached properly.
What many people don't realize is that Mercury's highest purpose is to raise our subconscious tendencies into conscious, lived reality.
That's right, a properly used Mercury Retrograde can actually clarify your thoughts and help you manifest your true desires into the world. It can also help you see more fully what is truly at the depths of your being.
This Mercury Retrograde begins before Friday's new moon in Libra, and will retrograde from Scorpio in to Libra.
Some questions to consider this retrograde:
Who or what would you like to align your energies with through partnership and compromise?
What do you most desire in this life? What do you value? How can you honor your wishes while fostering loving relationships?
To what extent do you share yourself with the world? To what extent would you like to be seen?
This week's AstroYoga pose creates balance and strengthens the areas of the body affected by these transits.
ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK
Practice tree pose (vrksasana)!
To practice this pose:
1. Stand in tadasana (mountain pose) and shift weight into your right foot
2. Lift your left foot to the inner calf OR the inner thigh (but not the inner knee)
3. Draw hands overhead OR palms together in anjali mudra
4. Repeat on the other side
PRO TIP
Find yourself actively in balance by playing with opposites. Press the standing foot into the ground firmly, so you're able to grow taller. Then, try squeezing the thigh and the foot together so firmly that you create width in your hips.
Once you feel really stable, you might try bowing forward and rising back up as a variation.
My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth and healing where there’s unrealized potential.
