Your Weekly AstroYoga Forecast
Libra Season is ending, and Scorpio season is about to begin.
Libra season marks the beginning of fall, the moment the seasons come to balance between warm and cool. Scorpio season marks the true, sustained energy of autumn.
Libra season asserts that all is beautiful: the leaves are in full color; the summer heat begins to cool. But Scorpio season reminds us that the colorful leaves will fall and that what was once blooming fresh in the springtime must now return to its roots in order to deeply rest.
Scorpio season brings a reminder that a return to darkness is not only something that happens, but something that is essential to living a full life. What is born eventually dies, and what outputs energy must eventually return to a state of rest.
As Mercury Retrogrades from Scorpio to Libra and the Sun moves from Libra to Scorpio this week, it offers you an opportunity for depth and contemplation.
This moment offers a cosmic doorway that leads to true beauty, deep understanding, and rich fullness.
Can you see ways that integrating knowledge of your own cycles of creation, sustenance, and dissolution could lead to fuller embodiment in a given moment?
Can you sense that these moments are constantly emerging from and dissolving back into fullness?
Are there things, people, or ideas that you've been clinging to? Is it possible to let these go so that they can flow at their own pace (and you can flow at yours)?
The beauty of life lies in the balance of how things are ever changing. This week's AstroYoga pose creates balance and strengthens the chakras and areas of the body affected by these transits.
ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK
Practice Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (One-legged King Pigeon Pose)
To practice this pose:
1. From downward facing dog position, step the right foot forward
2. Angle the foot about 45 degrees from the knee and extend the left leg straight back from the hip
3. Engage the pelvic floor and the glutes by squeezing the knees toward each other, even as the hips open
4. Either remain upright OR bow the torso forward
5. If you remain upright, you have the option of bending the back knee and reaching back for the foot with the hand or a strap
PRO TIP
Engage your knees toward one another so much that you're able to raise your pelvis a little higher. This will protect the hips and ultimately allow you to open the posture further, more safely.
Try both forms of the posture (upright and forward folding)! You may be surprised to notice the shifts that occur when you hold each of these for longer than you would in a typical yoga class (I like to set a timer for one, two, or three minutes).
My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth and healing where there’s unrealized potential.
