Eclipse Season's Final Push

It is Gemini and Eclipse Season's final days, and they continue the theme of energetic, physical, and mental shifts right into the Summer Solstice and start of Cancer Season this Sunday.

Yesterday, Uranus and Saturn found their second exact square of the year, which may have you facing your inner state about what is going on in the sometimes chaotic, sometimes rigidly-structured outer world.

The important thing in this transit is remembering that at any given moment, no matter what happens externally, you have a choice.

You can choose your behaviors, thoughts, and opinions, which combine to build you into the person you already are, and the person you're perpetually becoming.

This is step two in a three-step Uranus/Saturn theme in the year. The first was in February, the third will be in December.

This particular time is distinct because Saturn is Retrograde.

What does this mean? It's time to take any friction, chaos, or turmoil that you've been feeling and set some structures in place to help you face it and ultimately work through it. This is true whether these circumstances arise within yourself or via interactions with the outer world.

If you do this, when Jupiter turns Retrograde on the Solstice, you're likely to experience inner expansion, joy, and growth.

I'll send more on this next week, but here's the gist: do the difficult inner work this week, and you're likely to experience feelings of relief, gratitude, and joy that spark the beginning of summer and stay with you all season long.

This week's AstroYoga pose offers strength, grounding, and balance to help you steer your way through the rest of Eclipse/Gemini Season.

ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK

Practice Bending Tree Pose

To practice this pose:

1. From standing, bend your right knee and place your right foot on your inner calf or inner thigh
2. Lift your arms overhead
3. Stay, or tilt your torso forward with a long spine
4. Stay, breathe, and balance
5. Repeat on the other side

PRO TIP

Embrace the paradox of simultaneously hugging into your midline (sushumna nadi) and expanding forward, behind, up, down, and in all directions.

Can you live, breathe, and grow in a place of balance? Can you invite ease and expansiveness into your life though deep breaths in this posture?

My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
