A decade ends; a decade begins
New years is a potent type of solar return that happens each year. This solar moment is rife with potentialities. This is why New Years is a time to set your resolve for the coming 12 months. As the sun returns and strengthens all of life on earth, the seeds your intentions have sown begin to sprout, and you begin to see your desires realized.
2019 ended for much of the zodiac with big shifts in energy, and now is your moment to make an intention from the place you find yourself now (rather than where you thought you'd be now).
Given everything that's happened until this moment, what do you want moving forward? What is your deepest desire?
Yoga philosophy states that you truest desires are the sparks that set the course for your destiny. Harness the energy of this solar moment to set your intentions for the coming months (or even years).
Seeds are sown in the dark. The AstroYoga pose of the week allows you to close your eyes and tap into your body's innate wisdom.
ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK
Practice the Reclined Bound Angle Pose (Supta Baddhakonasana)
To practice this pose:
1. Lie on your back
2. Place the soles of your feet together and allow your knees to open wide (blocks are an option under the knees)
3. Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your low belly
4. Stay still for several minutes, watching your breath
PRO TIP
Get as comfortable as possible and do nothing. Allow your mind to follow sensations through your body. What is arising from your tissues into your consciousness?
My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
