Aquarius Season 2020 and Your Weekly AstroYoga Forecast

Read on for Your Weekly Astro Yoga Forecast…

Welcome to Aquarius Season

The Sun has finished his travels through Capricorn. If you've heard me talking astrology in the last little bit, you know that this year is all about the Capricorn energy: Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter are working together all year to permanently change the Capricorn area of your life in a real way.

Yet... transformation, growth, and work all sound good in theory, but in lived reality, sometimes you just need a break. Aquarius energy is here for you.

Aquarius energy adds a bit of play to the mix. Games, creativity, free association, and amazing realizations about the true nature of reality (we're made of stardust!) need to reenter your life.

Keep doing the work you're doing, but let go of the mental chatter about it. Let your mind play and wander. This is the medicine that will help this month as you make your way through winter.

This week's AstroYoga pose aligns the areas of the body ruled by Capricorn and Aquarius and provides grounding energy and a bit of a stretch for integrating these transits.

ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK

Practice Fire Log Pose (Agnistambhasana)

To practice this pose:

1. Take a seat, bending your left knee and placing the leg on the ground
2. Bend your right knee and hug your shin toward your chest while flexing your foot
3. Place your right foot on your left knee
4. Stay, or if your hips allow, lower your right knee toward your left foot
5. Stay and breathe
6. Repeat on the other side

PRO TIP

Listen to your hips! Don't force your pelvis/femur bones to go someplace they're not ready to go. Everyone's hips are different. Choose to go to a depth that feels good.

Alternately, if you're highly mobile, feel free to lean the body forward until you feel a pleasant stretch. Keep breathing to stay grounded.

My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
