Change is the Only Constant
There have been a lot of transits lately (and more to come) so you may think the world is going crazy or that you live in a dream!
Yet, the world has always been crazy; now is just the moment to notice it. You may find yourself marveling at how many "normal" things don't make sense at all, from fashion to healthcare to social norms! And then there are those things that don't make sense because they're shocking (or downright horrifying).
What to do? Pay attention, and align with reality as it is (yet continue to notice when things seem out of alignment).
This week, you're invited to let a little more grace flow into your life. Yesterday, Venus was conjunct Neptune causing dreaminess, and Mercury is spending his last week in inquisitive Aquarius, drawing the collective intellect into questioning mode.
These transits say: sometimes it's better to ask the question than to know the answer.
Your task this week is to balance the head and the heart.
Do you have a tendency toward over-identifying with either your logic or your intuition? This is the week to find the balance. Remember, according to yoga, the mind is a tool. Your brain (with its anxieties, ideas, autopilot, etc) can't be in charge; you have to be in charge.
How can you integrate the head and the heart? Can you find a place where they can be in agreement (even if everything doesn't make sense all the time)? This is your week to find out.
This week's AstroYoga pose draws balance in the Pisces and Aquarius centers of the body to navigate these transits.
ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK
Practice Eagle Pose (Garudasana)
To practice this pose:
1. From standing, shift weight into your left foot and pick your right leg up
2. Bend your left knee and cross the right leg over the left (if possible, wrap the foot around the ankle)
3. Draw your arms wide and wrap the left arm over the right
4. Lower your hips
5. Stay, balance, and breathe
6. Repeat on the other side
PRO TIP
Embrace the posture! You might wobble, use a wall for balance, or feel that one side is easier than the other. Embrace it! Notice reality as it is today, and try to find a way to enjoy it (or at least breathe into it).
Alternately, if this posture is easeful, try adding some motion, bowing forward or even doing the whole thing on the ball of your foot (rather than on a lowered heel). What do you notice? What changes?
My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
