Libra Season and Your Weekly AstroYoga Forecast for 9/24/19

Welcome to Libra Season (er... Autumn)

Yesterday was the Autumn Equinox, which means it's finally Libra Season!

Each year, Libra Season shows up to remind us that everything in life must have balance. What goes up must come down, and we as humans have to find balance among many, many things: speaking and listening; going out among others and exploring deep within ourselves; thinking and feeling; nurture and growth.

This year, Libra season is here not just to balance these ever-present challenges, but also to draw our attention to one of the major astrological challenges of the year: Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. Libra energy squares this energy to remind you that those challenges that you've been bumping up against this year deserve a little balance as well.

Have you been either avoiding a problem or combatting it so fully that you never seem to get a break? Now's your chance to shine Libra's beautiful rationality on these issues. Whatever your deep challenge this year, try to find a way to give it room to breathe.

How can you balance the deep work of your life (or your year) with the enjoyment of life's simple pleasures? It may be easier said than accomplished, but you'll be able to do it if you approach the problem with curiosity.

The AstroYoga pose of the week honors the sections of the body ruled by Libra and Capricorn, while challenging your ability to find and hold balance.

ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK

Practice Bending Tree Pose

To practice this pose:

1. From standing, bend your right knee and place your right foot on your inner calf or inner thigh
2. Lift your arms overhead
3. Stay, or tilt your torso forward with a long spine
4. Stay, breathe, and balance
5. Repeat on the other side

PRO TIP

Press the sole of the foot and the leg into one another. Like a tree in autumn, draw your energy in toward your midline

My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
