Yes, it's really happening...
Astrologically, things have been shifting this week. From Saturday's new moon in Libra to Saturn finally moving in a direct motion, things have been shifting in everything from the weather to politics.
What you need to know: the new moon in Libra started a new cycle, one which draws you toward actions that create harmony, balance, and mutual understanding.
This new moon, coupled with the moon's motion into Scorpio and Sagittarius this week, invites you to ground down as you reach out toward others.
What is it you'd most like to see come into harmony and balance in your life?
How can you create balance, peace, and beauty while still operating within those circumstances that constrain you? Can you change something that's been holding you back into something that helps you shape a beautiful future?
The AstroYoga pose of the week honors the sections of the body ruled by Libra and Scorpio, and calls in remembrance of the warrior goddess Durga, whose nine-night holiday Navaratri began on Sunday.
ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK
Practice Goddess Pose on Toes (Durgasana)
To practice this pose:
1. Take a wide stance with your toes and knees pointing in the same direction
2. Bend your knees to descend your hips
3. Draw your arms up in a cactus-shape
4. Lift your heels
5. Stay, breathe, and balance
PRO TIP
Try practicing Lion's Breath with this position. To do this, inhale deeply and exhale as a roar out the mouth--tongue out; eyes looking to your middle brow; with a strong, audible roar.
Lion's breath fills out this pose by bringing out your inner Shakti--the feminine-encoded energy of yoga--in a way that encourages you to express yourself and connect with your deep inner knowing.
My advice on how this asana connects with astrology is general. Your personal chart will offer more specific advice on what sorts of activities could fortify your best qualities and encourage growth where there’s unrealized potential.
