Can you do it all at once? Pluto, Saturn, Mercury, and Venus are shifting
The recent shifts in the zodiac include Pluto and Saturn coming out of retrograde, Mercury and Venus moving into Scorpio, and the Moon shifting from new toward full.
This week is moving us into one of four major moments in the year that allow us to examine cardinal (initiatory, forward moving, creative) energy. This Saturday's full moon will create a formation that allows the cardinal energies (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) to have a meaningful dialogue about their differences.
Cardinal energy is directional, which means these four signs each direct us toward something different: work; home; connection; individuality.
If you choose to engage with the planetary energies, your task this week is to answer the question: how can you deeply fulfill all your various drives--the ones that nourish, the ones that propel you toward your passions, the ones that connect you with others, and the ones that help you build your future?
(Hint: you don't need to do it all at once--these energies form a conversation, not a dictation to achieve the cultural myth of perfection.)
The AstroYoga pose of the week honors both the sun and the moon, and draws in the quality of balance that will help you this week.
ASTRO YOGA TIP OF THE WEEK
Practice Two Legged Downward Dog balance
To practice this pose:
1. From Downward Facing Dog, shorten your stance slightly
2. Grip your right ankle with your left hand
3. Draw your left knee in toward your left armpit
4. Lift your left heel toward your buttocks
5. Stay, breathe, and balance
6. Repeat on the other side
PRO TIP
One-sided balancing can be tricky because usually, the human body prefers opposite leg/arm motion. Spend some time noticing what is easeful or difficult about this posture. This can clue you into which aspects of your Self are integrating (or not) in your subtle body. Remember the right side corresponds to Sun energy and the left to Moon energy.
